Brian Koehn’s illustrious career in the corrections industry spans over three decades, marked by distinguished service in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the Army. His journey from a Senior Correctional Officer to executive roles, including Warden and Complex Warden of five different prisons, and Director of Security overseeing 65 prisons and jails, reflects his profound impact on the field. Brian’s approach transcends traditional management, focusing on initiating significant reform. His innovative policies are geared towards rehabilitating residents, bolstering security, and enhancing staff welfare, solidifying his reputation as an industry pioneer.

A cornerstone of Brian’s career is the establishment of Social Purpose Corrections (SPC), the nation’s inaugural full-service, IRS-certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the corrections sector. SPC champions a groundbreaking performance-based model that emphasizes safety, wellness, and cultural transformation, challenging conventional practices and propelling widespread, transformative change.
